Sometimes a given event occurred so frequently over the years that it is difficult to isolate one specific event out of the constant parade. This typically happens with behaviors that a parent may do or say while a child is growing up. For example, maybe Dad said the same abusive thing (e.g. "you are worthless") in lots of different events, and it becomes challenging to pick just one.
