However, our "mental set" about money, relationships and many other things does seem to either limit us or expand our horizons. Read this article carefully and give its principles a try. Dear Gary,

Thank you so much for sharing EFT with all of us.  I have been tapping consistently every day, have listened to your three sets of DVDS (while tapping along) multiple times, and have indeed "tried it on everything" with some very impressive results.  So here's one of my stories:

I have a house in the Lake Tahoe area that I rent out using the internet.  It's a really beautiful house, peacefully set in the woods with a lovely hot tub and lots of privacy.  I love sharing it with my renters, and my renters have always given me lots of positive feedback about how much they enjoyed their visits.

After several years, the rental income had risen to about $20,000 per year and stayed there.  Unfortunately, at that level, the rental income was not sufficient to pay the costs of owning the home.

Last November, it suddenly occurred to me that "try it on everything" included my rental income.  So I started tapping.  Here are some of the phrases I used:

Even though my rental income seems stuck around $20,000 per year...

Even though I don't really believe it's possible to book it up solid for the entire ski season...

Even though I'm worried I'll lose rentals if I raise the rates...

(I had not raised the rates in 4 years of owning the house, despite the fact that I'd made a number of improvements to it, and somehow my subconscious mind seemed to be "stuck" on the existing rates.  Not exactly keeping up with inflation!)

Even though it seems like there are too many available rental houses in that area and not enough renters...

Even though I'm worried they'll choose someone else's house instead of mine...

Even though I don't really believe there are enough rentals to go around...

And so it went.  I started with the "Ultimate Truth Statement" that the house was consistently earning at least $30,000 per year in rental income (and I later -- after having a lot of success -- increased my affirmation to "at least $40,000 per year").  I tapped on every tail ender I could think of.

I also used Dr. Pat Carrington's "Choices" method, with affirmations such as:

I choose to attract renters who fully appreciate all that my house has to offer. 

I choose to attract renters who find my new rates to be a great value.

I choose to receive at least $30,000 (later $40,000) in gross rental income this year.

I choose to see that my house creates just as much of a miracle for my renters as their rental income creates a miracle for me.  It's such a magical place to spend time. 

I choose to appreciate all the things I love about the cabin. 

I choose to appreciate the joy of sharing the cabin with others; it's totally win-win.

I choose to attract renters who take great care of my house. 

I choose to have great communication with my renters.

I choose for the house to be booked solid throughout the ski season.

I choose to have faith that there are plenty of rentals to go around.

I choose to attract off-season rentals.  I choose to remember that the Tahoe area is just as beautiful in the spring and the fall as it is in the summer and the winter.

Gary, I know this challenges many people's belief systems, but an increased flow of rental inquiries and confirmed rentals started IMMEDIATELY without me "doing" anything in the outside world.  I have the spreadsheet to prove it.  Literally within days of starting my tapping, the rentals started coming in.  The house was booked for EVERY single weekend of the entire ski season, for the very first time, and it was booked virtually every day in March, including the mid-weeks.  This was unprecedented.

Further, within eight months of starting to tap, I had over $30,000 in confirmed bookings, well on my way to my goal of at least $40,000 for the year.  Sometimes rental inquiries would come in within minutes or hours of doing a round of tapping, sometimes there was a delayed effect.  The man who takes care of my cleanings for the house commented that he could not believe how many rentals I was booking.
