As an EFT practitioner, I tend to try EFT on everything.  I have a friend; let's call him, "Everyman," who is skeptical of EFT.  The other day, he had the hiccups, and they would not go away.  They went on all through dinner and, as we were driving, they continued.  He mentioned a few times that they were bothering him.

I figured this is a perfect opportunity to offer to tap.  But first I tapped on my desire to "get" him to tap, letting go of the attachment to the outcome of my offer.  I offered to tap on his hiccups.  They must have been really bothering him because he agreed to try.  He said they were at a 10 out of 10 in their level of intensity.  I did one round of tapping:

Even though I have these hiccups…

Even though these hiccups are bothering me, and I don't know how to get rid of them... and I forgive myself  for any way that I may have contributed to this problem … I forgive anyone and everyone who may have knowingly or unknowingly contributed to this problem, and I'm willing to let them go.

Even though I’ve got all this air in my body that's trying to come out, I’m asking my body to process this in another, more wholesome and healthy way that is easier for me.

They are really bothering me

These annoying hiccups

I hate them and wish they would go away

I’m asking my body to process this extra air in a different, more wholesome healthy way

I don't think I got through more than one round before the hiccups stopped.  He was very happy and surprised that they were over.  I kept silent, rather than saying “I told you that it works!”
