EFT in Kenya

Hi Everyone,

You will enjoy this touching story by Sylvi MacKay as it brings the simplicity of EFT to yet another culture.

Aligula, one of five volunteer professional pastors in his local African Church of the Holy Spirit in the Western Province of Kenya, was working as a chef in the guesthouse where I was staying recently. He could not support his wife, Alice, their six children and two of his deceased sister's children on his work at the church, so he trained as a professional chef. He was paid 150 Kenyan Shillings, ($1.87 USD), six evenings a week to walk several kilometers from his traditional mud house, purchase our groceries at the market and cook our meal. He sometimes had other jobs as a chef and sometimes did hand plowing for pay on weekends.

He is a very intelligent, good-humored man of about 38, full of laughter, and was interested in learning a little about EFT as many of his parishioners were troubled in their marriages, many were widowed by AIDS, and many had been victims of the tribal violence in January 2008, following President Kibaki's election in the December 2007 Kenyan elections.

I described the Basic Recipe and effects of EFT and offered to demonstrate a simple case for him, such as relieving a headache. At this point he indicated he had a "splitting headache like a vice around his head" at that moment.

I asked him to show me exactly where the headache was located and he pointed to the forward, center of his crown and said that throbbing pains were shooting down both temples to his eyes. I asked him, on a scale of zero to ten, how intense it was and when it began. He said it was highly unusual for him to have a headache, it was at a nine out of 10, and he could not remember when it started.

I set up on the KC with, Even though I have this pain in the center of my head with pains shooting to my eyes, I love and accept myself deeply and completely.

After a round of "this pain," we began a round of venting. When I got to, "I don't know why I have this terrible pain," he suddenly remembered that the vice (headache) clamped down during breakfast that morning when Alice asked for some money to buy seed corn and fertilizer. He told me they owned two small shambas (Kiswahili for fields for growing vegetables). They had planted each shamba two times already in the past weeks at a cost of 8000 KSH ($100 USD) each time. The first crop failed to germinate and a fierce tropical downpour washed out the second. He had no money to give Alice to even begin a third planting and the vice (headache) clamped down.

We set up and tapped for the loss of two complete plantings and no money for more seed corn, and the pain and worry both came down to a seven. We set up again on, 'this remaining pain and worry," and eventually came down to a 3 out of 10 on the worry; he was amazed that the headache was completely gone.

I now introduced him to the 9-point gamut which we performed and then moved on to, I am strong; I saved my family last year by anticipating the violence, buying two 90 KG sacks of ground corn and making our stored green vegetables last until February 27th when we ate the last ones; I provide well for my family; I have always managed; the Lord will provide; He is my Friend and Savior in time of trouble; I too am a good provider.

I told him about testing for results after an EFT treatment and asked him to see if any trace of his issue remained. He declared himself worry and headache free. He could no longer find any trace of worry.

An interesting footnote to this session occurred that very evening: When he returned home (with ¼ of the needed corn purchased with the tip I had given him a week early), he found his wife in a rage against his father whom she took care of, swearing she would have nothing to do with the hateful man again - ever. Elisha asked if she would let him try a new thing called EFT he had learned that day. She agreed and within a half-hour or less had forgiven her father-in-law and declared herself to be quite happy to look after the old man-for the rest of his life!
