EFT "on the fly"--the fear of flying

Alert: This is one of 3,000 EFT Tapping articles that were written by users like you but before 2010. As such they are outdated and some of the links don't work. Nonetheless, they provide an excellent Peek at the Possibilities and show you the wide reach of even our older methods. See TRAINING for our free and near-free advanced methods.

Hi Everyone,

Marla Brucker illustrates not only the use of tapping in the midst of a panic situation but also the use of tapping by intention (she calls it inner tapping).

At the end of Marla's post I am also posting an inspirational vignette sent to me by Patrick McGivern. It is called "The True Meaning of Peace." I think you will see the connection to Marla's experience.

Dear Gary,

As a silent member of this incredible forum I am compelled to share a personal incident.

Last Friday I was notified that a cousin of mine had just passed away, after a long struggle with an illness. I was scheduled to give a two day workshop on EFT to colleagues in San Diego that weekend, but instead, I cancelled the workshop and boarded an airplane to Fairfield, Iowa.

The first leg of the trip took me to Chicago, then a change in flight to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a 1.5 hour car ride to Fairfield. After landing in Chicago, I met up with other members of my family, coming from other parts of the country. As we were ready to board for Cedar Rapids, an announcement was made that the plane was cancelled due to heavy rain and a gusty windstorm coming from the south. Our need to attend the funeral (the next morning) was so great that we didn't care about the weather conditions. In our search we finally found the ONLY flight that was still flying to Cedar Rapids that evening. Feeling lucky to have found a flight with seats still available, we finally took off--almost 3 hours later.

Just after take-off the plane started to shake, the turbulence was brutal. I could hear everyone in the plane express their fears by the sounds they were making every time the plane shook. I too was fearful. Ironically, I was placed in the last open seat by the emergency exit. My thoughts were rampant. Yet, while sitting there with family members who were also experiencing their own fears, I had a sudden "ah ha", and decided to tap.

I began by tapping on the "fear of flying", but I realized that wasn't my fear--I liked flying. I then tapped on my "fear of crashing". In just three rounds things shifted within me, I felt a sudden calmness and began to relax. I then decided to do some inner tapping for my family members. It was amazing because my sister started talking to me saying she just suddenly felt calmer.

The plane still shook and rattled. The turbulence was awful, but as I looked out of the window, I just felt as if I were riding a roller coaster, swaying with it, as I enjoyed the rest of the flight. Instead of it taking 36 minutes it took more than an hour. By the way, the flight attendants didn't even leave their seat.

After we landed (on one wheel), I looked around the plane and noticed that people were wiping their brow and sighing with relief. My sister told the pilot upon leaving the plane, that he did a great job, and the pilot's response was, "It doesn't get much worse."

Gary, I can't tell you how lucky I feel having been introduced to you and this powerful technique. The changes in my clients are profound, and the release of fear in me while flying was even greater.

My blessings to you all,

Marla Brucker

The True Meaning of Peace

(submitted by Patrick McGivern)

There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really liked, and he had to choose between them. One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds.

All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace. The other picture had mountains too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell, and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But when the King looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest ........... perfect peace.

Which picture do you think won the prize? The King chose the second picture. Do you know why?

"Because," explained the King, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace."
