Hi Everyone,
Trish Hodges from Australia gives us an example of how she used the EFT Tearless Trauma Technique for an intense issue of her own. Those not familiar with this highly useful process can study it here.

Hi Gary,
While watching the last DVD in the Foundational EFT library, in preparation for the EFT Certification exam, I had an intuition to apply the The EFT Tearless Trauma Technique to the healing of several dissociated parts of my personality, which I had not yet succeeded in healing. What a blessing the Technique has been.
These are traumas which were not accessible, because as a child I had split off the part of me that experienced them, in order to go on. I am only part way through this process, having started with the 'least' of the traumas of the 'oldest' (in years) dissociated part. However I am writing to report that the Tearless Trauma Technique worked better than I could possibly have hoped. There is no way I could have recovered, or 'neutralised' these memories, without a lot of suffering. In fact, I have not found another any other way to do so.
When I arrived at Step 6 of the Tearless Trauma Technique (it says to ask the client to vividly imagine the incident), I felt intense again with the 'fear of knowing' the details. At that time I just tapped some more and the event just popped into my awareness.
This is where the reframing that I had watched you do over and over again in the last few weeks of study really helped.
The event was not something I would want to know had happened, but acting as my own therapist I minimised the pain of knowing by immediately reframing the event. In my work with clients I emphasise this - it isn't what happened; it is what we did with it.
Even though this is not something I would want to know happened, I love and accept myself anyway; and I forgive myself for any part I played in it. I also forgive those who were responsible for the trauma I experienced. They were sick and deeply unconscious of what they were doing. They had to be. No well person would do such a thing.
From my knowledge as a therapist I know that these perpetrators were probably treated the same way as children as they were treating me.
EFT is so much about the "Art of the Delivery" Gary. I thank the universe, God, the One who works through you, in the development of this and the other Emotional Freedom Techniques. It’s a privilege to be an EFT Therapist.
