Success with Fear of Bridges over Water -- with 7 month update

Alert: This is one of 3,000 EFT Tapping articles that were written by users like you but before 2010. As such they are outdated and some of the links don't work. Nonetheless, they provide an excellent Peek at the Possibilities and show you the wide reach of even our older methods. See TRAINING for our free and near-free advanced methods.

This brief story by Kathy Atkinson gives us evidence of the permanence of EFT successes on emotional issues ... even intense ones. Once we have "gotten it," and all its related aspects, the emotional relief tends to hold through time without repeatedly tapping on that issue. By contrast, if an emotional issue "comes back" that is usually a big clue that there are more aspects to collapse.

By Kathy Atkinson

Hi Gary,

This is Kathy Atkinson. I am a personal life coach who specializes in using EFT with my clients. I just had to share this EFT success story for the Fear of Bridges Over Water.

I worked with LoriLynn for only 20 minutes and her fear of driving over bridges over water was eliminated and has lasted for the past 7 months. Here is her success story and update.

I contacted Kathy because I have a fear of driving over tall or long bridges that are over water. It is mainly the fear of the other cars doing something stupid in front of me and I drive over the side to my death.

So you can image, living in Florida that water and bridges are pretty frequent. I don't care if I am only 3 feet above the water. Then there are the alligators too that live in the water that you can see while driving over the bridges.

Kathy had provided me with the EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping instructions prior to our session. I had explained that the first time I remember any bridge occurrences happen one icy morning in 1982 when my car slide on black ice on the overpass I was on. I stopped with the car sliding towards the side of the guard railing. I did stop, so I never thought anything more about it.

During my session with Kathy we discovered that I felt stupid that I did not know about the ice or stupid that I would put myself at risk because I should have known and then it would have never happened.

With out realizing it, I started being overly reactive when driving over bridges. And I did not really become aware of it until living in Florida and seeing the alligators from the bridges.

I feel a sense of empowerment since doing that tapping session. I drive over a water bridge on my way to work everyday and do not have a sense of impending doom any more.

I would have told you that if, in a 20 minute session, my fear of 20 plus years could be gone, you must be joking.

I am looking at maybe talking to her about my fear of being in a committed relationship is the next session. LoriLynn, Florida

Update 7 months later

There have been no lapses. When I go over water on bridges I sometimes forget I doing that. It feels to me like just part of the road. Thanks, LoriLynn, Florida

All the best,

Kathy Atkinson
