Hi Everyone,

Nancy Rose Southern uses EFT to calm the stage fright experienced by both bride and groom. The ideas here can be used for fears of any kind.

Hugs, Gary

Dear Gary,

Besides coaching, I also officiate weddings.  I recently had a bride who reported a definite "fear of public speaking" and was particularly anxious about her upcoming wedding.

I offered to do an EFT session with her the day before when we were getting ready for the rehearsal.  She was quite open to anything that might help and the groom said, "I could use it too."

On the day before the wedding, her anxiety level when thinking about saying the vows in front of 75-80 guests had her at 8-9 on a scale of 0 to 10.  His level of intensity was about 3-4 out of 10.  So I worked with her and asked him to tap along and say the same words.  I told him I would check back with him to see if he got any relief once I stopped with her.

After two rounds of tapping, her level of intensity was about a 6 out of 10 and he was a 1 out of 10.  We worked a few more rounds with slightly different approaches which led to some tears and then a big sigh.  She reported feeling much better.  I checked in with the groom who was still a 1, so I had her sit quietly and just focus on her breathing while I did a round with him after which he got to 0 out of 10.

When I turned back to her, she was silently crying.  I asked her what had changed and she said when I made the statement that all the people in attendance were there because they loved her, something clicked and now thinking about it, it felt so sweet it made her cry.  I asked if she wanted to do another round and she said "no, this feels like good crying."

I checked in with her about 15 minutes before the ceremony was to start to see how she was doing.  She said "I'm doing really well, I only had one brief moment of panic and then it just went away."  We looked at each other with a really sweet connection and I did one silent round of tapping with her.  She smiled and nodded her head.

During the ceremony, both the bride and groom were calm and spoke their vows clearly and with so much heart it was really beautiful.  Both of them commented afterwards that is was better than they ever imagined.

Between the ceremony and the reception the mother of the bride came up to me and said, "I heard what you did for my daughter. Can you help me so I can speak at the reception without "losing it". We stepped aside and did a really short session twice through the shortcut procedure.  She said something shifted and although I did not stay long enough to see how she did, I have a feeling she enjoyed it however it went.

Having EFT to offer bridal couples to be more "present" for their wedding feels like a wonderful gift that I can give them.

Thanks so much,

Nancy Rose Southern
