Adding muscle testing to EFT

Alert: This is one of 3,000 EFT Tapping articles that were written by users like you but before 2010. As such they are outdated and some of the links don't work. Hi Gary,

QUESTION: I continue to be pleased with the success I get using your recipe....After viewing all of the and several of the videos, I'm curious as to why you don't use muscle testing more? i.e. Rather than go through a laborious process of elimination for energy toxins, why not just ask the body - is there an energy toxin, and go through elimination of possibilities by muscle testing.

RESPONSE: In the EFT course, except for an occasional demonstration for psychological reversal, I don't use muscle testing at all. That is on purpose. One of my main goals in producing EFT was to create a procedure with high success ratios without bothering with diagnosis. I believe I have done that. However, that doesn't mean that diagnosis is not useful. Indeed it is for those who have developed the muscle testing skills. Your addition described above will certainly be an aid for the skilled muscle tester where energy toxins are present. Thank you.

QUESTION: My normal approach when starting EFT with a client is to first test to see if EFT is the appropriate intervention, then ask if the "long version" is needed, then if the 9 Gamut is required, if the setup is required (it often is not), if CB breathing is required, etc. I find that with just a little muscle testing, about seventy-five% of the time I get it down to "EB, SE, UE, UN, Ch, CB, UA X 2," and that does it. If the body tells me that I need the other pieces I incorporate them, but usually they're not necessary.

If we use the body's intelligence, it already knows if it's toxic to something, or if it needs the affirmations, specific tappings, etc. I prefer to just ask it!

RESPONSE: Amen! I encourage everyone to experiment in all these areas. That is how innovations and improvements are created. By itself, EFT is a highly efficient system with an enviable success record, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved upon. To me, improvement is the name of the game and the demand for such improvements is one reason I'm hoping to give a diagnostic seminar in the spring. It should be a first class aid for avid students.

It may be worth noting that the shortcuts I use in EFT generate basically the same results you get with "just a little muscle testing." Interesting.

Thanks again, Gary
