Calming effects of EFT during an emergency on an airplane

Hi Everyone,

Karen Stone gives us her personal example of how to use EFT for self-calming. She says, "From the INSTANT that I began tapping, my heart rate went totally back to normal.  I felt a sense of calmness flood my body."

Hi Gary--

Recently I was flying on a direct flight from Seattle to Houston (3 and 1/2 hour trip).  Midway through the flight, I got up and stood in line to use the restroom.  Almost immediately after that, a flight attendant came quickly walking down the aisle asking in a loud and urgent voice if there was a doctor, nurse, or EMT on board.  She kept repeating her request, and specifically asked that a doctor would be preferred.

One of my nightmares is to be trapped on an airplane and have a medical emergency.  My heart started pounding as I imagined someone in this situation.  Since it was my turn to go into the bathroom, I entered quickly.

Wanting to calm myself down, I first told myself that it wasn't me who was having the medical emergency.  My heart was still pounding.  Then I wondered how could I be helpful to the sick person?  Since I have studied Reiki, I immediately started flowing some Reiki energy toward the person in need.  However, my heart was still pounding (9 or 10 on a scale of 1-10).

Then I thought I’d try some EFT.  What happened next was nothing short of AMAZING.  I started to tap on myself for the other person:

Even though I am sick and scared, I know there is help available for me...

From the INSTANT that I began tapping, my heart rate went totally back to normal.  I felt a sense of calmness flood my body.  I came out of the bathroom smiling, feeling calm, and feeling very connected to the good energy from the other passengers.  I continued to tap mentally for several more rounds after I got back to my seat.

Two young women sitting next to me were concerned about making their connection because the plane was already a bit late.  The flight attendant told them that if a medical person had to come on board, then everyone would have to remain on the plane until the medical people got here and the passenger was taken off.  I heard that news calmly and didn't get upset.  I continued to send a few more EFT messages to the sick person about help being available.  I actually experienced the rest of the flight , AND the rest of the day, with a heightened sense of peace and enjoyment in what was going on around me.

When the pilot came on announcing that we would be landing soon, I waited for there to be an announcement about medical people coming on board and all passengers needing to remain seated.  There was no such announcement.  We landed uneventfully and people got up, got their bags, and left.

So, did EFT help that passenger?  I have no idea.  But what I DO know is how much the EFT helped ME!  And I was astounded at the long-lasting, good, calming effects that I experienced throughout the rest of the day.  I am new to EFT, but this experience convinced me without a doubt that something definitely happens when you do EFT.
