Hi Everyone,

Peter Vince's mother was in major pain and was "suffering through it" while watching a soccer game. Note the "semi-surrogate" (my term) approach Peter uses.

I was recently paying a visit to my parents.  I knew it was not good timing, as they are keen soccer fans and a European game was on that evening.  My mother, who suffers from a great number of physical ailments, was getting settled to watch the game.  Then the pain struck in the back of her thigh.  I know that she suffers from aching legs, but this was really causing her great distress.

I asked where the pain was specifically.  She said that it was a knotted pain at the back of her right thigh.  I knew that even though she was in great pain, she would not want me to tap around her face, as she wanted to watch the game.  I asked her on a scale of 0 to 10 what the pain level was.  She said a 9 out of 10.  So I took her hand and tapped on her karate chop point and said to myself, Even though I have this knotted pain in the back of my right thigh… and repeated this 3 times.

Then I proceeded to tap just on the fingers, with just the standard phase to start with, ‘Knotted pain’ and went though to the 9 gamut, where I did the eye rolls, counting and humming to myself. I repeated this again.  I seemed to go into a light trance myself.

Then I quickly asked if the pain level had come down.  She said that it had to a 4.  So I repeated tapping on the KC point with, Even though I have this remaining pain…  As I tapped the fingers I did add comments, such as I release any emotional issues that may have contributed to this …I forgive anyone who may have contributed to this pain as well as myself.

As I looked across to my mother to check her response after a couple of more rounds, I could see she was in a ‘state of relief’.  So when I asked what the pain level was then she said, “The pain is gone; this EFT is good, isn’t it!”  I replied, “Yes it is, isn’t it”.  I knew that I needed to do some more in depth EFT work, but at least I was able to provide some ‘EFT First Aid’ so my mother could watch the match.
