Hi Gary,

I'm writing to inform you of yet another positive experience I had with using EFT. Last week, following the tragic shooting of seven Xerox employees in Honolulu, I was contacted by a large financial institution located in the same business building as Xerox's corporate offices. The street and building were barricaded by police and no one was allowed to enter or leave the building. From their offices they heard ambulances and police cars racing to the scene of the crime down the street. In addition, the wife of one of the deceased had previously worked with this financial organization and, therefore, many knew her and her family. I was asked to do a critical incident stress debriefing .

Initially I took a SUD on the group with a raise of hands. No one was below a 5 and most were at an 8-10. I proceeded with a normal critical incident stress debriefing protocol. I followed by having them focus on the worst part of the incident for themselves, took another SUD, taught them EFT, and we did several rounds.

In the end most were at a SUD 0 and the SUD 10s were at a 2-3. Upon questioning, those at a SUD 2-3 I found they were actually at a SUD 0 on the target, but had another aspect come up. A few days later I saw one woman individually, who was the most impacted and traumatized by the incident, and I saw the group again yesterday (8 days after the shooting). All were considerably calmer, no one got teary, and they expressed how much it helped being able to talk about the incident and it's effect on themselves and their co-workers.

And, then they talked about what really helped was "the exercise" we did in the end!! I am so greatful to have EFT among my tools for helping those in pain.

Warmest aloha,

Darlene Wade
