Intense fear of flying eliminated with EFT -- with follow-up and interesting side benefits

Hi Everyone,

Ted Robinson brings us this phobia case and says, "This is another perfect example of how the elimination of one fear often results in the elimination of a number of fears simultaneously. EFT is extraordinary."

Hugs, Gary

By Theodore Robinson

Dear Gary, I recently had a 30 year old woman attend one of my EFT workshops who, in the middle of the class, admitted she had an intense fear of flying. She related that her fear was so intense that she would have panic attacks on the plane and scream at the staff to land the plane when it got too high. She would then go into a full panic and cry hysterically until she eventually fell asleep with her face up against the window. I went right to work on it and used her fear of flying as the basis of a lot of tapping throughout the morning. At the end of the morning, she said her fear was somewhat reduced, but it was still there. However, when we went lunch, she routinely got into my car with three other passengers and sat in the back seat. Her friend immediately remarked that she never sat in the back seat and asked if she wanted to sit up front. She blithely said no. She was fine in the back. Her friend persisted and pointed out that, although she'd known her for 20 years, she had never known her to ever sit in the back seat before. Suddenly, they both appeared amazed at this distinct change of a very old and established habit.

GC COMMENT: This is a striking example of how clients can achieve remarkable EFT benefits and not notice them. In this case, the result was so powerful that the client forgot her former fear until she was reminded of it.

We returned and worked on the fear of flying again during the afternoon session and eventually she claimed that she was actually looking forward to a flight she had to take for business about ten days later. She said she would call me when she arrived in San Francisco and tell me how things went. About ten days later, I received the call and she said that she had tapped the morning of the flight and for the first time ever she didn't have to wait until the door to the plane was about to be closed before entering the plane. In fact, she said she took her seat along with everyone else and was only at a 3 on a scale of 0 to 10 for intensity during the entire pre-flight and went to a 4-5 out of 10 during the takeoff and landing. She said she had tapped a little during the flight, but when she was in San Francisco she did a little more tapping and by the time she took the return flight, she had no anxiety or stress whatsoever. In fact, she said she had enjoyed the flight, although it didn't seem normal to not be stressed out throughout the flight. She also said her boss said she was a pleasure to have along instead of a constant strain. What a difference. She actually came to see me about a week after her return and the first thing she did when she came in was to tell me she had actually driven on the Cross Island Parkway (a very heavily trafficked highway in NYC) for the first time ever! She was more amazed at that than the flights. She said she had always avoided the Cross Island Parkway because the traffic is always bumper to bumper and she's always been worried about being stuck in traffic and experiencing greater fears of being caught in her car and not being able to get out. Another fear had fallen without directly being addressed. This is another perfect example of how the elimination of one fear often results in the elimination of a number of fears simultaneously. EFT is extraordinary. Thanks for developing it and sharing it with the world. Its profoundly changed my life and everyone I teach it to seems to feel the same way. It will eventually change the world. Blessings, Ted
