Hi Everyone,
Here's a look at the possible results achievable by aiming the EFT Setup Phrases at brain functions.
Hugs, Gary
By Jarrod Bailey
Hi Gary,
I have been experimenting with different set up phrases and incorporating my learnings regarding Neurology and Brain Physiology. Â I have been experimenting with phrases such as:
Even though...
-the way my emotional centres of my brain are wired tell me I feel.... (angry, sad etc)....
-my brain is wired in such a way that creates a feeling of....
-my amygdala is perceiving this experience as a threat to me...
-my amygdala is perceiving this situation as dangerous....
I have used statements like these both with myself and clients. Â With myself I was in a situation just the other day that triggered off a very strong adrenalin rush and quite a strong fear response, even though I was not in any danger. Â
On one hand I knew that my physiological response was irrational (the adrenaline, racing heart, weak knees etc) yet that logic alone was insufficient to curb it. Â I tapped on Even though my amygdala's perception is that this situation is a real, significant threat to my survival...
Very quickly my physiology returned to normal and my body felt OK, even know recalling the situation there is no stress response, my body and mind feel at ease with it.
With a client, who was floating between feeling angry, sad and disappointed with her ex-husband (they're in the process of divorcing). Â I used the following:
Even though the emotional centres of my brain are wired to tell me to feel, angry, sad and disappointed when I think about ___...
With just one round she reported a completely different feeling that she described as, "nothingness, almost like detached but in a good way."
My theory as to how this works, would be based in part on works from people such as Donna Eden. That by stimulating acupressure points while focused on specific stimuli that is emotionally charged (i.e., ex-husband) we are creating change in the neurological wiring and firing sequence in the parts of the brain active at that time (the brain areas associated to emotions, ie the Limbic System).  By tapping on the points we are smoothing out the energy with respect to the stimuli and this in turn is creating neurological changes that are then causative in bodily changes such as blood pressure, muscle tension, other typical stress responses and thus how people 'feel'.
More research into these areas I believe will yield greater explanation as to how techniques such as EFT and other energy-based therapies create positive physiological changes in the body and the great speed with which they often achieve such changes. Â
I also believe it will help to give people a greater understanding as to how the energy system and neurology are integrated and impact each other. Â If studies can show EFT can reshape neurological connections in various brain centres the ramifications would be enormous. Â Everything from, 'genetic' conditions, behavioural problems, cellular function, organ function, immune system responses to name but a few will suddenly come under a whole new level of conscious control.
Cheers,
Jarrod
