Hi Everyone,

Here's an excellent example of how emotional issues can show up in the body. Gratitude to Rossanna Massey for submitting it. She says, "My friend Joanna called me late one evening worried about her right foot.  It started off as a slight ache in the morning, but as the day progressed it got considerably worse.  She could not recall any precipitating factors or injuries that would make her foot hurt so badly."

Dear Gary,

I’ve been a Chiropractor for seventeen years, and began using EFT on my patients with chronic pain syndromes as a last resort.  The results I achieved were so startling to me that it took weeks for me to process the enormity of this wonderful technique you created.

I thought you would enjoy this story.  Being a doctor, I often get phone calls at home from my friends and family with health concerns and for advice.  My friend Joanna called me late one evening worried about her right foot.  It started off as a slight ache in the morning, but as the day progressed it got considerably worse.  She could not recall any precipitating factors or injuries that would make her foot hurt so badly.

She described the foot pain as throbbing, cold, and too painful to walk on.  I thought it might be an arterial obstruction, and advised her to go to the emergency room.  Joanna works for the hospital and dreaded the thought of being in the ER.  I then suggested we try EFT on it.

Knowing Joanna as well as I do, I was careful not to step on her “other foot” regarding her boyfriend Jimmy who she had just spent the weekend with and who often times frustrates her.  I also knew that there was some anger attached to past experiences with him so I began tapping with her gingerly.  Even though I’m angry…

Keeping it general the first round decreased the pain from a level of intensity of 10 to 7 out of 10.  The second round was more specific.  Even though I have anger in my right foot, because I can’t express it and I have to put it somewhere…  That brought the pain down to 4 out of 10.

Completely surprised that her foot felt warm and that the pain had decreased so much, she also was able to admit that she had been angry at Jimmy all day so we tapped:  Even though I’m mad at Jimmy and it’s in my right foot…  Halfway through the shortcut tapping she exclaimed, “I’ve wanted to kick him in the ass all day!”  We both started laughing hysterically and when we stopped laughing enough to talk she admitted that he had made her mad and she had to fight the urge all day to give him a swift kick in pants.  She exclaimed that her foot pain was completely gone, it looked and felt normal again, and so we adopted the "medical terminology" for her mysterious foot pain as her “Jimmy Foot!”
