Using EFT for Jet Lag--even with 4 time changes

Deborah Miller, PhD gives us a detailed look at how she minimized jet lag on her trip from Mexico to Holland and back. For world travelers, this is a highly useful procedure.

By Deborah Miller, PhD

Hi Gary

I decided to give EFT a test run on jet lag when I took a trip to Holland at Easter time to visit a friend. I have made several trips across the "Big Pond" before and have felt extremely out of sorts and tired for days because of jet lag. I thought this would be a great playground for using EFT in order to enjoy my trip.

Late in the evening on the 22nd of March I left for Holland from Oaxaca, Mexico arriving the following afternoon. The time change was a jump of 7 hours ahead. I don't normally sleep very well in moving vehicles (car, bus or plane) but I decided that tapping was going to make this a wonderful trip. I tapped every couple of hours stating that my body rhythms were adjusting to the time change. I tapped that as the plane moved closer to my destination that my biological clock was adjusting to the new time zones as we moved through them and that by the time I arrived I would be completely clocked in. In fact, I managed to sleep more on this trip than normal, a few hour or two stints. Every time I woke I tapped to readjust my biological clock and to get some sleep.

I arrived in Holland in the afternoon and spent the rest of the day with my friend. I went to bed at a normal time for Holland, about 11 pm. I did sleep a little later the first morning. I got up about 10 am but was awake much earlier than that. I was completely clocked in from then on. I was alert and refreshed. My friend asked me several times the first day if I was tired and needed to rest, but I was fine. I only had a 10 min period where I felt a little tired from jet lag. After that, I didn't feel jet lag during the rest of the trip and my friend was amazed since she has traveled extensively.

On the return trip I was awake basically 22 hours because of the time change and travel time. This trip I found I didn't sleep much but still felt fine during the whole trip. I tapped again that my biological clock was adjusting as we traveled. I only felt a little restless towards the end of the trip. I came home and started in as if I had been there all along.

During this trip I experienced 4 time changes because it was during the week when the daylight savings time changes occurred first in Holland and then a week later in Mexico beyond the time changes I was experiencing because of the trip. Thus, the daylight saving time change occurred first in Holland. So I went ahead yet another hour from my journey. Then I returned to Mexico with an 8 hour time difference. Then 2 days later there was the daylight savings time change in Mexico. Every time I tapped and felt fine.

Time changes:

March 22nd - 7 hours ahead

March 27th - 1 hour ahead Daylight Savings Time

April 1st - 8 hours back

April 3rd - 1 hour back Daylight Savings Time

EFT is a wonder and I love using it, especially when one can travel long distances and feel fresh and ready to enjoy the experience.
