Hi Everyone,
Virginia McConnell was getting nowhere while using EFT for her client's specific driving event. Then she realized that the client only spoke Spanish at that time. By having the client speak in Spanish during the EFT session, the issue became greatly reduced. This is an interesting doorway that you might find useful with some clients.
Hugs, Gary

Dear Gary,
Last week I had a client (we'll call her Maria) who came to see me about an intense fear of driving on the freeway. She was also nervous about riding in the car with someone on the freeway.Â
Maria is from Mexico, but speaks several languages and is very fluent in English. The only time she could remember almost having an accident, was when she was very young and driving on a freeway with her parents. She said her father slammed on the brakes in order to avoid an accident. They did avoid the accident, and that did not scare her. What scared her was her mother's fear. Her mother began screaming that they could have died and many other things.Â
When she ran a movie of the event in her mind, she got very short of breath with the fear she was feeling. We tapped for about 20 minutes with no change in the shortness of breath. I was feeling very frustrated, because normally, there would be some reduction in the breathing problem. Finally, it struck me that when the event happened, she only spoke Spanish.Â
We then tapped on the event while I spoke in English and she spoke in Spanish. Two rounds later, her breathing was normal. We rechecked it four times with the movie technique during the rest of her session. I called her a few days later to see if she had actually driven on the freeway.  She did so but was still very cautious and only drives past a few exits at a time.  She said she had no fear and plans to increase it little by little. There is more EFT to do, of course, but this is a major step forward.
This "language door" can be very useful for clients who have grown up in other countries and are unable to make progress.Â
